The App Core team focuses on developing and maintaining the core infrastructure that powers the Smartsheet platform while ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain core backend infrastructure.
- Improve platform reliability, scalability, and system performance.
- Collaborate daily through mob programming.
- Work with cloud infrastructure and Infrastructure as Code.
- Contribute to database upgrades and automation.
- Build software using Test-Driven Development (TDD).
- Participate in on-call support rotations.
- Work closely with experienced engineers to solve complex technical challenges.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of at least one programming language such as:
- Java
- Python
- Go (preferred but not mandatory)
- Basic backend development experience.
- Interest in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Curiosity about database systems, especially MySQL.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
