Position: Medical Writer (Director, Scientific Services)
Role Overview
The Medical Writer (Director, Scientific Services) is responsible for planning, developing, and overseeing scientific content across therapeutic areas. Deliverables include clinical protocols, study reports, slide decks, eLearning content, web applications, and more. This role offers the opportunity to lead strategic medical communications for life sciences brands.
Core Responsibilities
- Create and edit medical writing deliverables independently.
- Conduct research, verify data, and annotate references.
- Manage resources, budgets, and timelines for multiple projects.
- Mentor junior writers and ensure quality control.
- Contribute to regulatory submissions, MLR reviews, and client discussions.
- Stay updated on industry trends and guidelines.
- Build strong client relationships and provide strategic medical insights.
Qualifications & Experience
- Advanced degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, or Biosciences (or equivalent).
- 2–3+ years of experience in medical content development (agency experience preferred).
- Expertise in AMA style, medical terminology, and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint focus).
- Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Self-starter with leadership and mentoring abilities.
