About the Role

Pearson’s Evaluation Systems provides teacher licensing and performance assessment solutions aligned with state standards. Scorers evaluate responses from teacher candidates and help maintain professional standards in the education field.

Eligibility & Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Current teaching certification in the subject area being applied for.
• Currently practicing or at least two years of recent experience in the relevant service role at a public school.

OR

• Current or recent experience as a college/university/program faculty member preparing candidates in the relevant subject area.
• Candidates must not be current Georgia educators or based in the State of Georgia.
• Both active and recently retired practitioners may be eligible.
• Basic computer skills, including keyboard and mouse operation.
• Ability to sit for extended periods.
• Ability to maintain a confidential work environment.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate responses submitted by Georgia teacher candidates.
• Learn and apply established scoring standards.
• Participate in discussions and consensus-scoring activities.
• Recognize potential scoring biases and apply strategies to reduce personal bias.
• Meet established quality and productivity standards.
• Successfully complete the qualifying test before scoring.

Working Schedule

• Work Location: Remote
• Scoring sessions take place Monday through Friday.
• Sessions occur for five consecutive days every 8 weeks.
• Working hours are approximately 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, including training.
• Approximately 40 hours of work are available every 8 weeks.
• Training is provided before scoring begins.
• A brief orientation meeting may take place before scoring.

Pay & Benefits

Starting Rate: $17.50 per hour
