About the Role

The Business Data Analyst will support the company’s delegated and regulatory reporting requirements for Claims and Provider Dispute Resolution departments. The position will involve analyzing data, developing reports and dashboards, managing data systems and presenting analytical findings.

The successful candidate will work with multiple data sources, validate and manipulate data, perform root cause analysis and develop reporting solutions that support business and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide data analysis and reporting solutions to business units.
• Work with business, compliance and project teams to understand reporting requirements.
• Define and document reporting requirements, templates and reporting cadence.
• Determine appropriate reporting approaches, including ad-hoc, scheduled and real-time reporting.
• Implement reporting using new and existing datasets.
• Ensure data integrity and accuracy across reporting solutions.
• Support new dataset creation and data architecture.
• Query multiple data sources using SQL.
• Develop ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• Create reports and dashboards using Power BI and SSRS.
• Analyze the root causes of data and system errors.
• Communicate issues to appropriate stakeholders and escalate problems when necessary.
• Research and evaluate additional technical capabilities to support organizational needs.
• Manage assigned escalations through resolution.
• Conduct technical and project-level root cause analysis.
• Identify, track and address technical debt.
• Define and evaluate performance metrics.
• Participate in process improvement and change management initiatives.
• Collaborate with leadership, project champions and process owners to align improvements with business objectives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in healthcare, primarily involving:
  • Data Analysis
  • Database Development
  • Database Administration
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with multiple data sources and reporting systems.
